——中国花釉陶瓷艺术作品巡展（福州站）隆重开幕
"Color Glaze Reflects Rongcheng, Inheriting Craftsmanship with Glory"
——The Grand Opening of the “Chinese Color Glaze Ceramic Art Tour Exhibition (Fuzhou, China)”
On June 11, 2025, the“Chinese Color Glaze Ceramic Art Tour Exhibition (Fuzhou, China 中国福州),” a Communication and Promotion Project funded by the China National Arts Fund (CNAF) 2025, was grandly inaugurated at the Fujian Shen Shao’an Lacquer Art Museum. The exhibition is guided by the China Arts and Crafts Society, hosted by Beijing City University(BCU), co-organized by the Beijing Ceramic Art Museum and the School of Cultural Heritage of Beijing City University, and supported by the Fujian Shen Shao’an Lacquer Art Museum. It marks the third stop of the tour following Guilin and Jingdezhen.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Shi Liling施丽玲, Director of the Shen Shao'an Lacquer Art Museum in Fujian Province. The "China Color Glaze Ceramic Art Works Tour Exhibition" project is led by the project team of Beijing City University, bringing together more than 80 fine color glaze ceramic artworks from top institutions such as the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Jingdezhen Ceramic University, and Beijing City University. As an important category of traditional ceramic craftsmanship, color glaze ceramics embody profound artistic traditions and unique aesthetic spirits. Held at the Shen Shao'an Lacquer Art Museum, this exhibition aims to further promote the communication and innovation of ceramic art in the context of the new era through the exhibition, and inspire the public's attention to and love for China's excellent traditional culture.

Li Bing李冰， the project leader and Director of the Cultural Relics Digital Research Center at Beijing City University, introduced the overall situation of the exhibition. The more than 80 exquisite works on display in this tour exhibition cover various types such as porcelain panel paintings, sculptures, installations, and utensils. Taking the three major sections of "Inheriting Classics", "Craftsman's Ingenuity", and "Boundary Integration" as the main thread, the exhibition systematically combs the evolutionary path of color glaze ceramics from traditional styles to contemporary expressions, highlighting their unique value in craft techniques, artistic language, and cross-media exploration.
As the third stop of this tour, Fuzhou, Fujian, sees its regional lacquer art tradition highly compatible with color glaze ceramics in terms of material language, craft philosophy, and visual expression. Both emphasize the beauty of material texture and the rhythm of color variation, embodying the Oriental craft philosophy of "One color when entering the kiln, a thousand hues when exiting" and "Layer upon layer of lacquer applied, revealing divine craftsmanship when carved". This showcases profound wisdom in craftsmanship and imagery expression.
Sun Jianxing, the representative of the participating artists, delivered a speech.
Sun Jianxing孙建兴， the representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage "Jianzhan Kiln Craftsmanship", delivered a speech as the artist representative. He stated that this tour exhibition is a rare opportunity to showcase the artistic treasure of Chinese color glaze ceramic art to the public. The inheritance of ceramic craftsmanship is not only the reproduction of technical forms, but also the continuation of cultural spirit and constant innovation at the conceptual level. As an art category embodying the connotations of Oriental aesthetics, the contemporary expression of color glaze ceramics vividly reflects how tradition integrates into modern life and how craftsmanship aligns with the context of the times. He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organizers and curatorial team for their meticulous preparation and professional promotion.
Xu Ruisheng许瑞生， Member of the Party Group and Secretary-General of the Fujian Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, delivered a speech.
Xu Ruisheng, Member of the Party Group and Secretary-General of the Fujian Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, stated in his speech that color glaze ceramics, with their gorgeous and changeable glaze colors and accidental kiln transformation effects, are known as the "miracle of fire and earth". Held in Fuzhou, this exhibition is not only a grand visual art event but also provides a valuable learning and exchange opportunity for Fujian's local arts and crafts community. He called on more young people to engage in traditional art, activate craftsmanship with creativity, and continue the life of craftsmanship through contemporary expressions.
He pointed out that the Fujian Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles has long been committed to promoting the development of the province's cultural and artistic undertakings, always paying attention to the path of rejuvenating traditional crafts in the new era, and this exhibition is a vivid practice of the close integration of traditional art and contemporary life.

It is reported that the exhibition will last until June 21, during which a series of cultural promotion activities such as guided tours and university research trips will be held. After the exhibition, the Chinese Color Glaze Ceramic Art Tour Exhibition will continue to tour in Yuzhou, Henan, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, and Beijing, the capital, further promoting the spread and popularization of Chinese traditional ceramic craftsmanship nationwide.
As a project funded by the National Art Fund, the Chinese Color Glaze Ceramic Art Tour Exhibition aims to use "flower glaze" as a unique ceramic language to build deep connections between tradition and the present, craftsmanship and aesthetics, education and the public, and inspire the new-era public's cognition, inheritance, and recreation of China's excellent traditional culture.
